Description: This is the walking tour along the ecological trail to the Beluga Cape on the White Sea coast. The visitors learn different landscapes, the climate specific, flora and fauna of the Solovetsky Islands, get the opportunity to watch some of the most beautiful and mysterious sea animals – white whales – in their natural habitat. The Solovki is one of few places on the planet where the white whales arrive for breeding.
The excursion is carrying out from June, 15 till August, 15. The distance from the village to the ecological trail is 7 km. The forest trail length is 6 km. The visitors cover this way on foot in the company of a guide. The most convenient time for the excursion is low water that is why the time of the excursion depends on access and recess of the sea. Under poor weather conditions the excursion is not carried out as the white whales do not come to the coast. As far as the white whales are in their natural habitat, there is no 100% guarantee to see them. For walking tour along the forest ecological trail the visitors should have convenient shoes and clothes, anti-mosquito agent and a binocular if possible. The excursion by motor boats is impossible as the noise of the motor scares away the white whales and they can leave the area.
